The mountains take on a different tone as winter creeps in. Among the evergreens are more vivid reds, oranges and yellows. These bits were gathered on a family hike. My boys had new backpacks and hiked much longer than we expected. The cool mountain air and views were good for all of us. Among all the natural objects we found, we picked up a ski basket as well. I took that as a nod to the winter ahead and more fun days in the mountains!
